Do I have to be a Prima Health Care patient to use the Prima Express Care facility?
No, you do not have to be a Prima Health Care patient.
What type of ailments do you handle at Prima Express Care?
Prima Express Care is available to handle all minor acute care from sprains and strains to sore throats and ear infections. Allergies, skin irritations and rashes, coughs, fever, sinus infections or the flu, as long as it does not require true emergency care, our trusted physicians are available to assist you.
So I really don’t need an appointment?
No, our experienced physicians will promptly meet your medical needs without an appointment — just walk in.
How long will I have to wait to see a physician?
We know your time is valuable that is why our expert physicians strive to see you within 30-minutes of your arrival.
Will my primary care physician be notified of my visit to Prima Express Care?
If requested, we will communicate and coordinate your care with your primary care physician.
What insurance carriers to you accept?
Prima physicians accept all insurance carriers with the exception of Caresource, Gateway, and United Healthcare Community Healthplan (formerly Unison).
What am I charged for a Prima Express Care visit?
A visit to Prima Express Care is covered by an office visit co-pay, unlike more expensive urgent care and emergency room visits.
What if I do not have insurance?
Prima is happy to see self-pay patients. At your first visit, you will be asked to pay $85. If the services exceed that amount, you will be billed the remainder. At any additional appointments, you will be asked to pay $50 at the appointment with any remainder being billed.
What should I bring when I come in for care?
In order to make the most of your visit we ask that you bring the following:
- Insurance card(s)
- Co-payment if required by your insurance carrier
- All medications that you are currently taking
- Complete list of other current doctors you are seeing
